Benalmádena costa is 9 km of shoreline with beautiful beaches with picturesque tiny coves and a fully equipped Arabian style Puerto Marina for over 1,000 vessels. The marina is surrounded by apartments and offers sports such as diving and sailing. The marina of Benalmádena boasts many international awards for design and functionality. It houses many restaurants, bars, discotheques and shops, and should be visited both in the daytime and after dark. At night this award winning port is illuminated in spectacular style. Crystal clear waters are filled with huge fish that bubble to the surface if you feed them.
Benalmádena Pueblo, the original village, which lies about three kilometres inland at an elevation of approximately 200 m above the sea level. Its core consists of a typical white-fronted Andalusian village, although much recent building in modern architectural styles has somewhat detracted from its character.
Arroyo de la Miel (”Stream of Honey”), originally a separate village, is situated in between Benálmadena Pueblo y Benálmadena Costa. It has become the main residential area, and is also the most commercially active. It has several attractions such as the Tivoli World amusement park, and a teleférico (cable car) running to the summit of the 769-metre Calamorro mountain, which provides panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada, Gibraltar and on clear days, the Moroccan coastline.
